Richard B. Cheney, an accomplished businessman and public servant, is vice president. Cheney is a prominent figure within Washington politics has worked under four presidents from the United States. George W. Bush is the fourth. Bush decided to choose Cheney as his running mate as vice president in July of 2000 in reference to Cheney's expertise and wisdom. Dick Cheney is a former chief of staff to an American President. He was also a member as a member of Congress as the Secretary of Defense. Both Republicans as well as Democrats appreciate his sincerity. Cheney says he sees his role within the administration to be that of a frank but discreet adviser to Bush. Cheney has accepted the Republican vice-presidential nomination in 2007, stated that his hopes were for working with a president that will reach all across the political spectrum to engage with opposition with confidence and to achieve a common objective. Richard Bruce Cheney, son of Richard Herbert Cheney & Marjorie Lauraine Dickey was born on 30 January 1941, in Lincoln Nebraska. When he turned 13 old, he moved together with family members into Casper which is located within western state of Wyoming, where his father was in charge of the local soil conservation district for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
