April Lockhart

April Lockhart was born on July 4, 1995. in seventh grade. She began playing guitar, and also taking piano lessons, sparking her love for the art of songwriting. When she was 12 years old, April wrote her first song Different. As a teenager, April spent a lot of time in writing songs and practicing her music. The following months she would begin taking writing trips along with her father and her father to LA and NY. April began to include different topics that were relevant to the Take my Hand song for some friends, such as peer-pressure impairments and even suicide among teenagers. Lockhart collaborates with the well-known clean beauty brand Ilia and also is an influencer in the lifestyle industry with her own growing fan base. Her disability is a part of her character, but it's not all of the of the picture. In the end, Lockhart's profile isn't afraid to talk about her disability, but it doesn't center around it in any way. The message is? It is not only our physical selves. Our identities are complicated and encompass a variety of factors. Lockhart declared in video form she didn't want to be defined by her physical disability. She doesn't wish to become an advocate for disabled people who only speaks about it. There are many aspects of Lockhart. It doesn't impact my day-to-day life I do every day as normal and have found ways to manage the things. But it's also a part of me and I feel that it's important to speak about. Lockhart, a real inspiration for self-acceptance in general she is currently on a long journey to achieve it. The actress admits she has gone through phases when it comes to her body, feeling uncertain about clothing choices which showed her arms. Now, she dresses in whatever she wants. and she shares her photos on social media. Self-love she said is like a journey. "I don't think you will ever be in that place," she said. This is true for everyone regardless of their state of being. Your people with who truly know you and are able to see inside your heart, are the ones that will help you remember why it's important.
