April Lockhart

April Lockhart, born in 1995 on the 4th of July, began taking guitar and piano lessons at seven years old. Her interest in writing songs was ignited. The first song she wrote was called Different, which she wrote at 12 years of age. The year she turned 14 was when she devoted a great deal of her time creating song concepts and practicing the music she was playing. Then she began to take trips to write with her father in NY in New York and LA. April began to include additional relevant subjects into the song, which she called the Take my Hand song for some close friends, like peer pressure problems and suicides among teenagers. Lockhart is a partner at the well-known cosmetics brand Ilia as well as an influencer in the lifestyle industry who has a growing fan base. Lockhart was born with no left hand and that is an aspect of her identity, but it's hardly her whole story. Lockhart's profile on Twitter doesn't shy away from the fact that she is disabled however, it doesn't focus on it. What's the message? It's this That we all carry multiple identities and are more complex than we think that we're. Lockhart said via video that she does not want to be defined solely by her disability. She doesn't want to become a disability advocate who only talks about that. There are a variety of aspects to Lockhart. My day-today life is not directly affected by disability. I live my normal day-to-day life and discover my own solutions to issues. This is also part of my life, and I think it should be discussed. Lockhart is a true source of source of inspiration for anyone who wants to be self-accepting and is currently on a lengthy journey to achieve this. She admits that she's been through phases of her body and sometimes feeling insecure to wear certain types of clothing that showed the arms of her. Now, though she dons whatever she wants and posts photos in those outfits to social networks with a sense of pride. The journey itself is the key thing I don't know that it will be an end about self-love. However, I believe that's the case with everyone with whatever their insecurity is. It's important to have people around you who are aware of and can relate to you. They will be the ones to ask what you think about?
