April Lockhart

April Lockhart is a born on July 4th, 1995. In the seventh grade she began taking guitar lessons and piano lessons. That ignited her enthusiasm for songwriting. At the age of 12 when she wrote her first single Different. In her 14th year April spent a lot of her time to singing and writing songs. After that, she started taking excursions to write with her father, who lived in NY and LA. April added other themes to the track "Take My Hand" to help her the friends she had who struggled with problems like peer pressure, disabilities, and even teenager suicide. Lockhart is also gaining a growing following as a lifestyle influencer and is employed by the renowned Clean Beauty company Ilia. The disability she has is part of her persona, however it's not the entire of the picture. The profile of Lockhart on Instagram does not hide her disability but doesn't concentrate solely on her disability. The point? It's crucial to understand that we all have many faces, our identities are diverse and we're much more than our bodies. Lockhart states in the video Lockhart in a video interview "I don't think that is what defines my character. I don't intend to influence disability, because I've many more things to contribute." But it does not affect my daily life. I still do all the normal things and have adapted to the limitations of my disability. Since it's a my identity, it's something that's worth talking about. Lockhart has been a great example to other women regarding acceptance of oneself. Lockhart admits to having been through times when she felt uncomfortable in wearing certain clothing styles which exposed her arms. Nowadays, she can wear whatever she wants. And she posts her photos on social networks. Self-love, she says, is a process. "I don't think you'll ever get there," she said. That's true of everyone regardless of their insecurity. I believe having friends around you who really know you and see the depths of your soul is vital because they'll be the people that remind you of what are you worrying about?
